This policy explains how the Chinese Chess app collects, uses and protects your data. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
1. Data we collect
- Account: an automatically created guest account (identifier), your display name, and a chosen or uploaded avatar.
- Gameplay: Elo rating, online match history, puzzle progress, achievements, quests.
- Friends & social: friends list, invitations, in-game messages.
- Device: push notification token (FCM), basic device/OS type.
- Analytics & ads: anonymous usage events (Firebase Analytics) and an advertising identifier used to serve ads (Google AdMob).
2. How we use data
- Provide online play, matchmaking, leaderboards, and progress sync.
- Send notifications (game/friend invites) if you allow them.
- Improve the product via anonymous statistics; show ads to keep the app free.
3. Third-party sharing
- Google (Firebase, AdMob, Google Play) — push, analytics, ads.
- Cloudflare R2 — stores avatars you upload.
- We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data retention & deletion
Data is kept until you delete your account. You can delete it anytime in the app (Me → Delete account) or via the data deletion request page. Deletion is permanent.

5. Computer-controlled opponents
During quiet hours you may be matched with a computer-controlled opponent so you do not have to wait. Results of these games count like any other game.
6. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
7. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect data (encrypted transport, access controls). However, no system is perfectly secure.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. New versions will be posted on this page with the update date.
